I'll be getting in touch with Tom tomorrow. My mechanic thinks it's a bearing, but he wants to hear it first. For it to make noise, I have to drive for 20 minutes or so, some of it at highway speeds. Trying to warm it up in todays sleet AND hear it wasn't successful. I'll drive it to work on Monday, but not as far as Maine.

(I can't believe I wasted a perfectly good insult up there!)

Oh, I'll be there.

I'm going out for a nice drive today, because I have fears of the mechanic saying, 'WHAT noise!?' Then, I drive to or from Maine or go to work on Monday, the wheel goes flying off and I spin to the shoulder where I hit a lump of something (probably a frozen formerly-indecisive squirrel) and flip over several times before coming to a stop upside down with gas leaking all over which lights on fire from a dangling sparking wire, and I'm trapped, screaming, because the seat belt's stuck and I left my switchblade in my other bra...

If I don't die, I will enjoy the chicken, the stroganoff, and limoncello. I could maybe think of some sort of food to bring too. At least Mary has a volunteer to clean the bathroom.

Looks as if the entrees are covered. I think I'll work up another cheesecake. I wonder how it would taste with Salsa topping? Maybe it's better to have Salsa on the side.

I have a car that's either going to be fixed or is staying home. It moves, but sounds like I have a bad bearing, or (shudder) ball joint, and the soonest I can get it in is Friday. I might have to get a loaner or rental or something.

Hi everyone -- no trouble with keeping Asha away from the cheese Jeri -- unfortunately we can't come -- we accepted a dinner date on the 2nd (originally we were asked for the 26th but I said we had a commitment so don't feel I can screw around with the date).

Will miss you all -- only good news is we will be dining on an island with some very good cooks in a totally lovely house - so, win some, lose some I guess........

Sins - ignore my PM about what to bring.........we can't make it.

I will check on what time the last ferry from Peaks is -- if not too late, I may have Tom drop me off for a while.....

I LIKE visiting with the song circle critters. I think they should stay home if they fight or eat cats, but I like the dogs. Just keep Asha away from the cheese.

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience at Jed Marum's first concert with an unruly dog who chased the cats, defecated in the upstairs bedroom and then barked enough for the neighbors to mention it to me later in the week.
So if there is any chance at all that Dex will chase the cats, I have to insist that he not visit. By the time Dex misbehaves, the damage will be done. Alice and Ed will reciprocate by urinating in odd places and I can't tolerate that nor blame them - it's their house. As it is, it's taken a few years for Lizzie to finally show herself at gatherings. The dogs who currently visit live with cats and know better than to chase. Seamus is actually on snuggling terms with Alice and Fred.
Sorry Maine Dog but I can't take the chance that it won't work out.

Well, Mary, I'm glad to see that you are finally getting sensible with you calendar!
I will be pleased to come at 4 and stay a while, if the weather permits.
The weather wll also determine what Dex does. If it's warm enough for him to stay in the car, I propose to bring him and see if he will behave himself? (into the car if he doesn't). If it's really cold, he will have to stay home alone. PM me with your thoughts about these arrangements
