Hi, odd request this one, I need a photo of a house in Southport Lancs,
my old home back in the 50s! I am writing my autobiog. for the kids & would like someone in Southport to take a photo of the house I was "dragged" up in, long drive for me to do it, but in this day & age of digital photography someone could save me a day!
Any takers?

I'm on the wrong side of the Pennines, so cannot help you myself. Hope this will refresh your thread, and maybe catch someone's eye.

If you get no takers it might be worth just asking about Lancashire, I know there are some Lancies on here, and one of them might be able to help.

Given all your "free to a good home" threads I reckon a bit of reverse traffic is about due.

We found an early photo of our house online at the county tax collector's office listing. Don't know if they do that over there or not, but it might be worth checking on. You might also look at this site as there are generally volunteers to do "lookups" who quite often do photos for folks. Good luck!

I was indeed, Kitty, sailing the seven seas (well, a brief but very pleasurable if somewhat chilly cruise in the Solent) over half-term.   Sadly I didn't get any Mudcatters to come with me, but we had a good time all the same.

I am now back at my desk and indeed the chalkface, with only a term and a half to go before I leave :-D   ..... and will be available to skipper full time (end of advert).

Southport is indeed within my purlieu but sadly I don't have a digital camera that works.   You might try LesB who lives in Southport. What's the address?
