Saw a copy of the biography in Dingle on Saturday - it's in Irish, unless there is a translation.
Yes the (television) programme was on RTE about 5/6 years ago.
I meant to mention the radio play, The Scattering, written by Patrick Carroll (about 10 years ago) and (losely) based on Joe Heaney; also well worth getting hold of.

Yes, thats the biog I meant.It really is an excellent biography.I was in two minds whether to buy it or not as I haven't read an Irish book in 17 years but with the help of an Irish-English dictionary I'm flying through it.I'm getting as much enjoyment from this as I would get reading ten books in english. There are a lot of english interview passages included too. But what swung it for me are the lavish photos.Buy it for those alone.

I forgot to say that a CD of RTE recordings of Joe comes with this book. I think its about 60 or 70 minutes long. Theres also a cameo appearance by Seamus Ennis on it.
