Subject: BS: Horton hears a Who From: Donuel Date: 05 Mar 08 - 06:09 PM The movie is coming out with Jim Carey's voice as Horton. The plot is similar to Contact, Arrival or many other sci fi movies with a pregancy side plot. The main difference is ryhme. Here is an opal I have that looks like Horton. I digitally added the tusk but I have some ivory to actually make one for this stone. The other side of this stone looks like a donkey. http://usera.imagecave.com/donuel/eleopal.jpg |

Subject: RE: BS: Horton hears a Who From: Stilly River Sage Date: 06 Mar 08 - 10:10 AM Flash drive, thumb drive, they have a number of names. They're quite inexpensive now. I bought a handful of 2 gig Sansdisk Cruzer drives for about $12 each to use for stocking stuffers last year. The recipients loved them! I wish Jim Carrey and others would keep their hands OFF of Dr. Seuss. They simply don't do a good job, taking marvelous children's stories with linguistic genious and turning them into moronic middle-school potty jokes (look what they did to The Grinch). SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Horton hears a Who From: Donuel Date: 06 Mar 08 - 05:37 PM Granted the hollywood version of the cat in the hat was a travesty, I will reserve judgement on the new Horton until I see it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Horton hears a Who From: RangerSteve Date: 06 Mar 08 - 06:20 PM Turning a Dr. Seuss book into a movie requires a lot of padding. The original Grinch was just a half-hour TV show, and it worked. There isn't enough in one book for 90 minutes. |

Subject: RE: BS: Horton hears a Who From: katlaughing Date: 06 Mar 08 - 09:32 PM That last one, better bird, looked like the head, face on, of a court jester, you know with the funny caps with horns on either side with bells hanging off them. Beautiful stones, all of them, Donuel. I, too, hope you are backing up your pix. |
