Some folks here may be interested in this:

One of the examples that Hillary Clinton has given of her success with international crisis was her trip to Kosovo. It turns out that comedian Sinbad and singer Cheryl Crowe accompanied Hillary on that trip. Chelsea Clinton was there too. The truth about this trip speaks to whether Hillary is exaggerating her claim that she has international experiences that make her the most qualified person to be the President of the USA.

I just found an exchange of comments on Talking Points Memo, a political website, that are either really from Sinbad or are from someone claiming to be Sinbad. Here's one of those comments:

"Look, Sinbad's been getting a bad rap lately. Yes, I went to Kosovo with Sheryl Crow and Hillary. Yes we rocked it out for troops. And may I say that yes, I certainly did bring the funny. So where's the love? All I hear are jokes about the fact that Hillary arrived with me, and that we were only there for a day. So what? The funny knows no time limits. The funny just is.

What I want to know is this: WTF, Talking Points Memo? You guys seem to be running stories straight from the Clinton camp's daily conference call. Finally I get my name back in the news and I'm sitting here asking myself: where is the love? Sinbad's been trying to get back in the spotlight for ten years, and now that people are starting to look into the fact that Hillary isn't being as truthful about foreign policy experience as she lets on, you guys SIT ON IT!! What's the deal! Give Sinbad some love! Throw me a BONE here!

Look, facts are facts. So let's look at them. Sinbad risked his neck in Kosovo. Sinbad saved his best jokes for the troops. Sinbad got a kick-ass haircut. Sinbad wore his best Karl Kani shirt. Those are just FACTS.

So, PLEASE. Let's finally see some reporting about Hillary's trip to Kosovo. What did it entail? What was Sheryl Crow's responsibility? And most importantly:

DID SINBAD ROCK THE HOUSE OR WHAT!"

Sorry about those italics. That font command was built into the post that was on Talking Points Memo. I believe that the italics command was supposed to be just for the word "is". Would a moderator please change the words after "The funny just is" back to the regular font?

I'm very disappointed that people are questioning your foreign policy experience and your ability to answer that phone call at 3 a.m. I hope you are now able to set the record straight about the important foreign policy experience shared by you, Hillary Clinton, and Sheryl Crow.

I should mention that a photo that looks like Sinbad is posted with the comments on Talking Points Memo that purport to be from Sinbad. But are these comments really from Sinbad {the African American comedian}?? I'm not sure. If this is really Sinbad, then his comments may have political import.

And if these comments were really written by the comedian Sinbad, then his speaking publicly about this matter in this manner can be considered a courageous thing to do.

Ben Smith at Politico supplies the details from the campaign:

"Obama communications director Robert Gibbs emails reporters with a picture of Clinton, Sheryl Crow [and comedian Sinbad] from a 1996 trip to Bosnia, linking a series of recent articles including this Chicago Tribune piece making the point that Clinton wasn't a central player on foreign policy in her husband's administration".

Hmm. I see I've been mispelling the name of the singer Sheryl Crow.
Sorry 'bout that.

I admit to being more familiar with the comedian/actor Sinbad than I am with the singer Sheryl Crow.
I'll have to check her out.

Are any other Mudcat members or guests familiar with either Sinbad or Sheryl Crow?

The name Sheryl Crow rings a vague bell - I can't for the life of me remember the context - and don't really care. But who the f**k's Sinbad?
