One of my oldest best friends is in the hospital, but he made it, and is coming home tomorrow.

My other oldest best friend Gordon Bok came by to visit. That's always a pleasure.

Then, I was talking to Pete Seeger on the phone about a new project and told me he has just written a new song. I was very surprised and tickled pink when he sang it to me! His voice is not what it was, but it was still the great man doing it.
I was thinking I would never hear him sing again. He wished me luck to get my voice back so I can sing again. What a guy!

You know kendall I had a similar day last July whereby I spent a fair amount of time with Ron Hynes and Bruce Murdoch. Shared a pint with them as well. That was a great great day for me. Not wanting to take away from your post but I just had to mention it.

Both of these men have perfected the art of being really human. I've heard it said that we are humans trying to learn to be spiritual, but I believe we are spiritual beings trying to be human.

I said it many times over the years that if there is such a thing as an angel on earth, Pete Seeger is one of them. He is so highly evolved he is awsome.I reminded him that it was he who gave me my first banjo lesson back in Gordon Bok's living room in 1969, and all he said was, "My, that was so long ago."
Talking to him was a real boost to my flagging spirit, and I awoke the next morning with a thought in my head that was boiled down to this: "Ignorance is poverty of the mind."
