I did, today, in our wonderful new shopping mall, there it was filling up the corner decorated with star maps under a deep blue dome with glittery points in. Usually they play things like Cleo Laine singing Shakespeare in that spot, but today, on the 14th May, it was white Christmas.

Not quite. I think I may have heard one of those earlier. But it has beaten the glow-worms. And I've not seen the swallows or martins yet - they're very late. Maybe the mall got the nest-sites.

It sometimes snows here in May, but it never settles, courtesy of the Gulf Stream. So....

I'm dreaming of a white Maytime, White hawthorn blossoms in the snow, When the sky in daytime is bright, And the frost gets all your plants at night.

But it was Christmas the man was singing...
