Subject: BS: Iranmobile: Worst AntiWar Demo Ever! From: Mrrzy Date: 24 Mar 08 - 03:48 PM Did anybody see this? Was it worth the trip to you? Man, I have never been so disappointed in an anti-war rally thing... |

Subject: RE: BS: Iranmobile: Worst AntiWar Demo Ever! From: Little Hawk Date: 24 Mar 08 - 04:27 PM Here's a thought. If it was as lame as you seem to indicate...maybe the government secretly arranged it to embarrass the antiwar movement. ;-) |

Subject: RE: BS: Iranmobile: Worst AntiWar Demo Ever! From: GD Date: 24 Mar 08 - 04:58 PM Well, you know, like everything else these days, anti-war rallies just ain't what they used to be. All us old timers are either dead, burnt out or just too damn tired to go through it all over again. And this new lot, our cross-bearers, well, between text messaging, re-programing their Ipods, comparing new tats and wondering if their Beamer is going to get towed, it's probably more of a challenge than we realize to get a mob assembled these days. Peace, love and all the understanding you can handle... |

Subject: RE: BS: Iranmobile: Worst AntiWar Demo Ever! From: Little Hawk Date: 24 Mar 08 - 06:04 PM Well...they needed a much bigger audience, that's all. Now just figger how much more effective it would have seemed if the mainstream media had advertised it as an upcoming event for about a week...and it had been held in Madison Square Garden on live nationwide TV with an audience of 150,000 screaming war protestors waving signs and chanting "NO MORE WARS! NO MORE WARS!" You can do that kind of thing right when you've got the right connections. |

Subject: RE: BS: Iranmobile: Worst AntiWar Demo Ever! From: Big Mick Date: 25 Mar 08 - 10:17 AM Wow. I can't believe I watched that whole thing. I kept waiting for something to happen. I am sure THAT changed some minds. Talk about pressure.... I just don't know if the war mongers can take this kind of pressure. Talk about manning the barricades.............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......uh, sorry, .......dozed off there for a minute. Mick, walking away looking for someone to get his tongue unstuck from his cheek. |

Subject: RE: BS: Iranmobile: Worst AntiWar Demo Ever! From: Little Hawk Date: 25 Mar 08 - 01:27 PM You have just crushed the pride, the hopes, and the personal dreams of about 12 very passionate and dedicated souls, Big Mick. You big meanie...! ;-) **** It would have been more effective, I think, if they had built the Bush-riding rocket mockup around a real honest to goodness JATO pack, strapped a couple hundred pounds of dynamite around it, and fired the thing into the state capitol building. THAT would have got some attention, by golly...as well as demonstrating the utter futility of war. Of course, if they did that they would probably get to spend the next five years or so in some lovely facility like at Guantanamo, so it's kind of a moot point. |
