Subject: RE: Programme on folk music collectors From: r.padgett Date: 28 Mar 08 - 05:05 AM I caught this programme last night I personally found it interesting although perhaps intense The Housecarpenter was featured and its origins and was a song i learnt many years ago ~ I was struck by the variations of tunes used and guitar styles etc Curt Cobain also was included there[I think] and the guitar "rifts" which were clearly copied, but then dunt we all! Eliza Carthy singing Ten Thousand miles from Nick Jones too ** Aside: CBS recording of the same song bears a uncanny resemblance to NJ too Ray |

I had searched around without luck but did manage to find the Tom Munnelly programme I'd previously missed so caught up on that at least. Not the easiest radio site I've found but hidden gems. |
