Next Saturday see dual main guests at KFFC with the talents of Gerry McNiece & Bill Lloyd.

Gerry McNiece:

A hard to pigeon-hole talent. Gerry's songs are superbly written, show great insight and are subtly melodic. A great purveyor of traditional songs also, Gerry has to be seen! Black Sheep Masham Music Festival programme.

Bill Lloyd

Bill Lloyd is well known as a live performer in Cumbria, the Borders and North West England, both as a soloist and with The Wildwood Band. He has appeared regularly at the Rootin' Aboot festival in Aberdeen, at the Knockengorroch and Wickerman Festivals in Galloway, The Tinto Festival, North Wales Bluegrass Festival, SolFest, the A1 Roots Festival, the Old Time Festival in Gainsborough, Dent Folk Festival and countless folk clubs and sessions from Wick to Penzance. He learned banjo from the late great Aberdeen claw-hammer player Ray Stewart. Bill Lloyd's music has found a wide and enthusiastic audience over the last 25 years, and appeals to young and old, straight and alternative, traditional and contemporary.

Support for Saturday night will be a number of the local singers and musicians doing some of the favorite songs of Dick Willoughby who should have been doing the support slot on Saturday evening.

Dick unfortunately died a few weeks ago having just sung a couple of stirring songs at Burneston Folk Club. Dick was a stalwart of the local folk community having run Bedale Folk Club for a number of years and was the Landlord at The White Bear where Bedale Folk Club was originally based.

Dick was especially good at encouraging complete newcomers (including me a few years ago)to get up and have a go. He was a good bloke and will be missed.

Yep, it's still happening.

Even if it's only me in the audience!

Actually, attendance is looking pretty promising. B & B at the pub is now sold out....plenty of room for vans in the car park though.

Today!

Bill's promising to play his pipes and his Oud as well as his banjo...... I'm not clear if he meant all at the same time.

As I said above, we had quality on Saturday evening!.

A great night, thanks to Paul for organising it and Bill and Gerry for grand sets.

I've still not recovered from the banjo trio!
