It is a project of the Peace and Justice Center. I participated in the original earth day in 1971--with the Ecology Club at my high school. http://www.earthsite.org/april22.htm April 22 is also John Muir's birthday, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Muir it is easier to re-cycle now, and lots of organic food is available. |

From: MarkS Date: 22 Apr 08 - 08:36 PM gosh, lots more than one Autos get much improved gas mileage Air quality in many cities is much improved Many rivers and lakes have been cleaned up Recycling is now mainstream Wind and solar now contribute a larger and growing portion of electrical generation Many low head hydro dams have been removed Better standard specs for electrical efficiency and insulation on new construction We should celebrate our success and use it as foundation to build more improvements And - no paper was used to circulate this message although a vast number of electrons were temporarily inconvenienced.
