Subject: RE: Obit: Ric Masten - May 9, 2008 From: Genie Date: 09 Nov 10 - 04:40 PM I had the pleasure of listening to Ric and his wife, Billie, at the First Unitarian Church in Portland, Oregon a few years back. They both shared some delightful and poignant poetry and songs, and I have one of Rick's books of poems to remember that. I understood that Ric was stricken with MS (IIRC) not long after that, and I'm sure his last years were a struggle. I hope he's in a better place and making the angels laugh, sing, cry and dance. |
Subject: Obit: Ric Masten - May 9, 2008 From: oldhippie Date: 11 May 08 - 04:48 PM Ric Masten (1929-2008) passed away on May 9, after a long illness. Poet and folksinger, probably his best known songs were "Let It Be A Dance" and "Old Enough". The announcement from his family follows. "We are hanging the feathers on the wind. Dad passed peacefully late last night, May 9, 2008, at 11:50 pm, his whole family around him singing Let It Be A Dance, candlelight illuminating our love. We are thankful for all your support through this sweet time. We will post a short article on his website www.ric-masten.net in a day or two. Love, Jerri and all the Masten clan." |
