I had a 1972, with the 400 cu engine. Gone now, alas.

But I have this 1968 AMX ( factory 390, 3:17 rear, auto, air) that is just waiting to be rebuilt...

What on earth would you want one of those for?

Oh, be sure and ask how many miles it gets to the litre. I think in the US, where we compute miles to ther gallon, it comes out rather pathetically low. Maybe 10?

Are you relaly looking for a car? Or a penis flag?

I have a hard time visualising anyone who would want a gas hog now with the price of gas nearly $4.00 a gallon.I bought a 1996 Geo Metro new and the day I drove it off the lot I got 50 miles to the gallon and I still do and I wouldn't sell it for the same price I gave for it

These have been a good investment, as noted above. Also an excellent hobby vehicle. They were never meant for day-to-day driving to the market and delivering the kids to school. Those with the 383 block are not hard to find, but 400s are scarce.

I'm not to sharp on Math but if I remember correctly from my high school days some 66 years ago you would get 15.625 miles to the litter

Peace the gallon mileage would be the same 50 MPG 4 USA quarts but 4 litters would be 61.5 anyway that's how I see it. a US quart is 32 OZ and a litter is 40 OZ.Correct me if I'm wrong
