I've got some cake in the fridge if you'd like some.

Yes I know its the internet and you can't digitise and transmit food.

But we can imagine can't we.

yellow icing.

don't know yet what kind of sponge or filling is underneath yet.

retail price in Tescos was over £8.00

last minute end of sell by date..

42 pence bargain. !!!

big cake.. far more than sensible for 2 people to eat..

wish I could upload leftovers to rapidshare.

now what kind of eco food crisis is that ?????

best wishes [genuine] to Joe and all mods
been a good 6 months since I last had time and good cheer
to engage in daft petty battles over points of priciple.

..and the cake is genuine too.

big cake.. ridiculous impulse buy.
right cake, wrong time and place.

what the hell are we going to do with it.

..errr.. bought big tub of cornish icecream to go with it.

better not open up new ice cream sharing thread.

would melt if stored at Rapidshare for more than half an hour.

Aparently.. big internet servers create so0 much heat.
they will be a bigger threat to global warming in the next 20 years
than international airflight.!!!???

Or a vanilla cheese cake with candied cherries, New York style, without that crushed cookie stuff on the bottom-

Or a good chocolate with mocha icing-

Or even a carrot cake with lemon flavored icing-

Or-

I must go to the bakery tomorrow.

Trivia:

There's nothing German about German chocolate cake. It's so called because the original recipe specificied chocolate made by German's Chocolate Company. It was originally called "Gernman's chocolate cake", but the "'s" disappeared somewhere along the line.

Personally, I prefer carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

well, the wife is so annoyed I stayed up drinking
until now.

but, anyway,

30 odd years ago, an 8th or a quarter of Morroccan hash baked in a prefab factory ginger cake cook in a tin
from the local shops..

when I was a student in halls of residence

cooked one up to impress girls on 1st year humanities degree.
up on the floor above me.

no, thinking now.. wasn't bake in a tin that time.
one of the girls was a really good cook
and stirrred up a real fresh ginger cake
then we mixed the 1/4 in it.

what a night that was.

30 years later..

and I'm married to one of them.

result ????

and funnily enough I've
never bothered with hash
since then...

Kids be warned from my sorry tale

drugs lead you into a life of moderatly happy marriage

and cosy comfortable middle age.

there.. you have been warned.

No calories? Yes, that's the inherent virtue of virtual cake. It's all in your imagination, including the calories.

(If you're cabable of gaining weight by just thinking about cake, I'm afraid you have a problem that's way beyond the scope of this thread.)

D'you think it might have large succulent chunks of crystallised ginger in it ? If so, could mine be quite a large slice please ?

I think that yellow frosting islemon; lemmee see...yes, it is... I'll take a piece of that section there, the spice cake. If you have a piece of yellow cake with chocolate frosting, I'll take a piece of that, too.

Ok, I'll trade some of my Irish soda bread for any cakes being offered. I made it on Friday for a potluck dinner I went to yesterday, and I still have half left over. I used dried blueberrys and dried cherries instead of currants. I've made it before, and it's really good. I need to get rid of it, as it's going to be in the 90's here for a few days and it'll go bad real soon.

The groceries have been adding a lot of dried fruits lately, the dried blueberries and cherries mentioned by RangerSteve, and cranberries, mangos, and Medjool dates as well as the usual yellow raisins, apricots, bananas, citron and currants (Corinthian raisins).
Many different varieties of fruit bread can be made, not high calory, and sure to satisfy number six (if he/she didn't go far away).
