Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you srious? From: Lox Date: 11 Jun 08 - 08:04 PM Sorry Amos and US catters. Basically shows how bush's texas cronies siphoned 23 billion out of the "aid" package to Iraq. BBC Panorama are thorough and the witnesses are credible. |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: Peace Date: 11 Jun 08 - 11:23 PM Looks like a money maker to me, Eb. HEY, I have an idea. Is there any chance you could get Alaska to invade Alberta? We'll get yer troops here and because of the exchange rate, sell 'em all kinds of stuff: prime rib, apple sauce from the Penticton area, potatoes from PEI, dry meat from the north, stuff like that. (The guns gotta be left at the border. Sorry to be demanding like that, but we have lots of wildlife that doesn't do well with loud noises.) Anyway, after the invasion (which we hope would last about five years or so) we will sell the guys and gals Canadian beer, although we will import Coors for the people who want that. I wouldn't want to be greedy on this, so here's the deal. We charge $97 dollars per meal. It's unlikely anyone in Washington will notice, and our House of Commons will convene an emergency session of the House just as soon as their vacation is over, so there NO RUSH to hide the fact we'll be making about a hundred million a month on the meal charges alone. We ain't even started with the beer yet. OK, so I'm a bit shaky on the details. I have never proffered an invasion invitation before (I am getting more and more like the UN all the time). But we could get rich, bail Newfoundland out of the doldrums, get some neat housing projects going, and when the troops return home we'd have some well-built housing available for people who'd never be able to have a home otherwise. Hell, this is a win-win situation. Anyway, maybe see what you can arrange and let me know, OK? Make the code word "moose". That way, no matter how eliptically you talk I'll KNOW what yer talkin' about. Signed, Well, I'd better not sign, huh, otherwise the whole thing could go down the tubes. |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: Peace Date: 12 Jun 08 - 12:16 AM Moose. We could cut the 23 billion figure in half. There's a sales point for the people in the fives ideds tructure. (Tha twa scode.) |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: Bee Date: 12 Jun 08 - 02:15 AM You rcod ei sbrok. Eth eji gi su pPeace! Damn Albertans - any American invasion has to be considered a national natural resource, so you dasn't be hogging all those cute little dollar-spending American soldiers out in the oil patch! Of course, keep in mind their dollar's on the slide again... |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: Peace Date: 12 Jun 08 - 11:28 AM Lox, I am not making light of this. It IS important, but as per usual, nothing will happen. Cheney and Bush's friend have made out very well. Only what, 4000 dead American kids? Wonder what that translates to per body? |

Did Picasso or Leonardo have to contend with mooses in their work? Damn low budget galleries! It's a good vid though I recommend you watch it. |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: GUEST,lox Date: 12 Jun 08 - 07:15 PM I think you're right in the short term ... sod all! Bush is flying under the radar these days as people wait for him to pass on. Noones gonna want to chase him down for it now they know he's off and noones goonna care when he's gone. I suppose it could affect McCain if he was linked to it. The most important things are information, dissent and healthy scrutiny. Practically, there clearly needs to be a system or process through which this kind of stuff must be made accountable so that it can't happen again. That's one good thing about the UN at least. But America could do with its own official checks and balances. The American people are sick of beiing the worlds bad guys and they keep getting let down by the corporatocracy that rules them. |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: Peace Date: 12 Jun 08 - 07:19 PM The American people are as honest as people anywhere. Their corporations are usually pretty good, too. But toss some crooked politicians and some crooked CEOs into the mix, and a fast few billions--well, . . . |

Subject: RE: BS: 23 billion - are you serious? From: GUEST,lox Date: 13 Jun 08 - 05:21 AM by corporatocracy I mean the cronies at the top. |
