Subject: Lyr, req. Ickety, pickety, packety, poo From: glueman Date: 14 Jun 08 - 04:00 AM My father used to sing me a nonsense song at bedtime. I don't know if it was an army song or a musical hall tune but it amused me no end and I've often wondered since what the words were. I can only recall snatches of it, "I once boarded a tramway car cross the Arabian Sea and fell in love with a charming girl whose name was Micky McGee" - "It was the middle of the winter, the begining of July", etc. Allow for childish misinterpretation and a half century gap in memory. My guess is it's an early C20th stage song but not sure. Any assistance on this one gratefully received. |
