petr: I don't think you ever log in, so I have to ask in a thread: I went to school with a kid who matches your story in every way but one – he arrived in 1970, not 1971. I could come up with his name, but it would take hours. If you are one and the same, you will remember this: When playing road hockey, *no matter who* we put in goal, as soon as said Czech commenced a slapshot, the goalie would run away, while he laughed demonically. He was always laughing, and liked to teach us the art of Czech swearing. Feel free to respond via pm. I hope not to learn that ALL Czechs have a slapshot like that. I can still feel the fear.

thanks heric,
that would be someone else, we did arrive in 71 - to Winnipeg
and while I enjoyed sports I was never that good.
