My computer died now I have a new one but Mudcat doesn't remember me and I don't know how to re-establish my membership.

If you remember your details and password, go to Login from the drop down menu and do just that

Or click on "Membership" and follow instructions.

And of course this applies any time you are logging in from a strange computer, say in a library.

banjovey is a fairly new name at mudcat, with first post in January 2008. Last post logged in was a week or so ago. With only 25 posts, instructions that look simple to those who've been around for longer may still not be clear.

1. At the top of every page here, the header says "The Mudcat Cafe."

2. On the same line, on the right, there should be a rectangular box that says "Quick Links."

3. Click the "down arrow" that looks like an upside down triangle at the right end of the box.

4. Click on "Login"

5. Click the button marked "Go"

6. You need to know your username (banjovey), and the password and email address you used when you registered. Type in the ones that the login page asks for and click login. Note that the username is "case sensitive" and you must use exactly the same caps and lowercase characters and spaces used for your original registration.

7. If you've forgotten the password, you can enter the username and use the "Forgot Password" button, and then watch for an email. The email can only be sent to the address on record for you so if you've changed email addresses you won't get it.

8. If you can't get a login at the Quick Links|Login page, go back to quick links and at the bottom of the dropdown list click on "Contact Us" and send a message describing the problem and providing a current email address where you can be reached. Instructions should arrive in your email.

9. If you still have problems, click on "FAQ" (Frequently Asked Questions) in the header of any page. Look for "Registration Problems," and down near the bottom of the brief advice for this subject there's a link you can click to send an email direct to Joe Offer, who will provide any help needed. The reply will be via email, so be sure to include your mudcat name and your current email address in the email to Joe.

John

Foolstroupe, you made me laugh, and it's only 8 in the morning! A good start for the day.

John, you are a good guy.

Ta!

(This reminds me of those classical symphonies that 'go on ending for ever'...)

:-P
