If you haven't seen/heard this great unaccompanied trio of young lads from Hartlepool yet, then you should. And if you live in or near London, tonight (21/7/2008) at 8pm you have an excellent chance to do so at Herga Folk Club, Pinner Green Social Club, Rickmansworth Road, Pinner, Middlesex HA5 3TJ.

See you there?

Just spent the weekend with them at Liverpool Tall Ships.
Had some brilliant sessions together, they are well worth seeing.

Yes they are, and they gave us a great night. Amazing they've still got voices left after a weekend at the Tall Ships!

Kitty

Have seen two totally stunning young groups this year that have reaffirmed my faith in folk. The Young'uns in England, These United States from America. As you might expect, I never read or heard about them from our media: I just ran into them at festivals. Both totally brilliant, in completely diferent ways.

In the 9 months or so since we last saw them they had matured a lot, too. More confidence, better stage presence, even some experimentation with the harmonies. They have far to go yet, I am sure. They'll be filling marquees in a few short years. But somehow, right now (and even 9 months ago) there is a rawness and infectious enjoyment to their sound, which I hope they will not lose.

Great evening!
