We shall be attending for the first time this year and are really looking forward to it.

Already been invited to join the Northumbrian Piping workshop run by Pauline Cato (thanx for passing on invite John Routledge).

I have looked through the programme and cant find this workshop. what day is it on and where? or is it an invite only event?

I think you'll find that the programme isn't up to date ... I know of at least three talks and workshops that aren't in there, and seem to have been organised after it went to press. You'll probably need to look at the newsletter for updates.

Linda and I should be at John Conollys CD launch at the Rifle Club, 2 ish on Tue 19th. I expect we'll catch up with a few familiar faces!
Linda was looking really well, apart from being green with envy as I gave her my Warwick 'debrief'.
My husband Les should be 'in tow'. He'll be the one with a finger in each ear!! He is house trained but has a unique taste in music!

We have just got home from having fish and chips at Whitby after a long walk round Robin Hood's Bay and Ravenscar. Beautiful!

This is numero uno of festivals. It has everything for everyone - big concerts/workshops line up and a really strong 'fringe' element.
I've been going to this festival for the last 15 years and would'nt miss it for anything.

With me being booked at Shrewsbury I can only go the beginning of the Festival. So I should be there on Friday 18th August staying till probably Monday. Attending the usual places Station (Tap) and Endevour etc.

We'll be at Whitby, but will have to leave on Thursday evening. The Plan is to get a kip at home on Thursday night, on Friday morning collect Mum (Mudcatter Helen Jocys) and head off to Shrewsbury.

I'll be there dancing all week with the Southport Swords. If anyone is interested we'll be teaching figures from our own 'Southport' dance at the Longsword Workshop.

reminder to Southport Swords the correct way to carry the garland up the Khyber to the Spa is up the Khyber steps at shoulder height complete with music and in step like Kirkburton Rapier Dancers when they were younger.

Thanks everyone - now back to the really important bit - the festival itself. I understand the craft fair will be at the Leisure Centre this year, whilst the spa will be used for dance workshops. Sounds good to me. Only two weeks to go and really looking forward to all the fantastic singing, music and friends.

The sessions in the Endeavour are being lead by Mick McGarry from Punch the Horse. Also quality sessions at the First In Last Out (FILO) at night Monday - Fri.

Yeah, the harbour area was pretty whiffy on Tuesday, and the news that it is being handled by Yorkshire Water, Scarborough BC + Environment Agency is not reassuring (any one of those alone can make a hash of things) but we had a good downpour Wednesday pm and that should help.

I will be here, but working some of the time so won't get to many events. I hope to meet up with plenty of old acquaintances, just don't be surprised if I have to dash off. Query: does work gear count for bad shirt contest entries?

So no meeting - just run into people in the streets and at events. We don't spend a lot of time in the pubs, because they are so jammed. We definitely go to the ballad workshop every day at 1. We will be wearing mudcat shirts just about all the time.

The Scratch will be out dancing as usual on Monday, Wednesday and Friday along with the 'legendary' Megascratch band. Any Cotswold men and musicians welcome, sort of 'Shaky legs and eggs'. Usually meet at the Plough yard at 1pm.
