Subject: Tune Req: Theme from 'Ben Hall' From: GUEST Date: 24 Aug 08 - 10:48 AM Hi all, I am trying to find sheet music of a kind for the theme from 'Ben Hall' as performed by The Bushwackers. I believe that it was composed, or at least arranged by Bruce Smeaton. I play whistle, can only half remember the tune and would dearly love to be able to play the rest. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Laura |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Theme from 'Ben Hall' From: bubblyrat Date: 24 Aug 08 - 06:34 PM As I have said on a different but related thread before, I believe that the theme -tune from Ben Hall ( I LOVED that series , especially Jon Finch's portrayal of Ben ! ) to be an adaptation of a tune called " For Ireland I'll Not Tell Her Name " , or something very similar, as played on the fiddle by my late dear friend Jon Hayward, of Shropshire. Go look it up !! |
