Subject: Song for Colin Kemp From: Tig Date: 26 Aug 08 - 12:51 PM Here's the words for the song Stanley Accrington wrote in memory of Col K which was first performed at the Metropole on the Friday night of Whitby 2008. It says it all. Stan invites us to "feel free to use/adapt/circulate as you wish. The tune is anything that fits" Please will somebody put it into the DigiTrad for me so the memory is there for all time? I didn't know him that well, but Stanley's song is the sort that will bring his friends and family together with knowing smiles. Thanks for sharing it with everyone Tig. He was certain it was based on a traditional one but that was as far as it went. Similarly we have an invite to adapt it as we like. I think, like Col, it's a 'flexisong' which can be sung to suit anyone. But what a tribute! |
