Alaskans are organizing a protest set for this coming Saturday to call for the the removal of Alaska State Attorney General Talis Colberg for urging state employees not to comply with subpoenas. The group will be publicly protesting in Anchorage. Alaskans from other towns may also be organizing protests to coincide with the Anchorage gathering.

There was also a video of that protest, with the Beatles "Back In the USSR" (have no idea why they used that for the soundtrack). I didn't save the link. Might be on you tube.

1400 is pretty impressive for a state with a population of 700,000 or so, with very limited transportation facilities.

To demand that the Governor uphold her promise to Alaskans to cooperate with the investigation set in place by the Legislative council, to demand the immediate resignation of the Attorney General Talis Colberg, who illegally told state employees to ignore subpoenas, and to demand that the McCain campaign remove their lawyers from their unlawful intrusion into the Alaska Department of Law.

Update on the rally held today:

"It was AWESOME,with what about 3-4 hundred folks in attendance. Weather was beautiful with the mountains clear to the East, termination dust about 1/4 of the way down. like Palin's administration...coming down to a cold awakening.
The most heart aching part of the whole wonderful assemblage was when Walt Monegan's mother, barely able to hold back her tears told of how they have hurt her and her son, she then thanked all who came , tears flowing from her and many in the crowd."
