Subject: BS: Here's a political party I can root for From: RangerSteve Date: 26 Oct 08 - 01:43 PM The sample ballot came in the mail yesterday, with about ten presidential candidates in New Jersey, a few senatorial candidates, and a bunch of people running for lesser offices. There's the usual selection of minor parties represented, but there's one guy running for senator that I believe I can really get behind, just based on the name of his party. It's the All Day Breakfast Party. I have no idea what he stands for, but if he's being literal with the name, I'm all for it. Any other political parties out there with great names? |

Subject: RE: BS: Here's a political party I can root for From: alanabit Date: 26 Oct 08 - 02:24 PM The Official Monster Raving Loony Party, which was headed by the much loved English eccentric Screaming Lord Sutch, was one which I liked. Mind you, one of their policies was to raise the age of consent for sexual intercourse to sixty-five. The mind boggles to think how they might have enforced it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Here's a political party I can root for From: katlaughing Date: 26 Oct 08 - 03:32 PM In Colorado this year, we have 16 candidates on the ballot for President. They include the following: Democratic (nothing new there) Republican (nor there) Libertarian (been around a while) Green (ditto) Constitution (hmm..) Socialist (ditto) Socialism and Liberation (a bit more radical sounding?) Socialist Workers (more familiar) Prohibition (What? At this late date?) America's Independent (Oh, boy!) Boston Tea (Already been done.:-) Objectivist ( "Over-ruled!") Pacifist (My favourite.) Heartquake (Whose heart?!) and two "unaffiliateds" Next election, if we can get 1,000 signatures and $500, LeeJ or I or any other Mudder who lives in CO. could be on the ballot for the Mudcat Party of Colorado! That's all it takes, though I think those 1,000 also have to live here. Oh darn! |

Although, rather than being Progressive Conservatives, they seem to be, on some ways, Regressive Conservatives... another alacronym that doesn't lend itself. |

Subject: RE: BS: Here's a political party I can root for From: Emma B Date: 26 Oct 08 - 08:36 PM then again there's....... Beer Unity Party (in Norwegian: Pilsens Samlingsparti) is a political party in Vest-Agder, Norway. All of the ten points raised in its action programme are in one way related to beer and the brewery industry, for example defence of employments in breweries. In the 2005 parliamentary elections the party won 65 votes! |

Subject: RE: BS: Here's a political party I can root for From: PoppaGator Date: 27 Oct 08 - 11:45 AM I am a proud supporter of the All Day Breakfast, and at least once a week I treat myself to a couple of eggs over-easy with hashbrowns and onions and a bottomless cup of coffee, at LUNCHTIME. When I was younger and had more energy, of course, my preferred hour for Breakfast Any Time was about 2-3 AM on Saturday or Sunday. Ther aren't many places where one can purchase such a meal here in south Lousiana. All Day Breakfasts are much more abundant in the state of my birth, New Jersey, the Home of the Diner! |

Subject: RE: BS: Here's a political party I can root for From: Gurney Date: 27 Oct 08 - 11:20 PM In New Zealand we can often vote for a candidate for Alf's Imperial Army, possibly the most anglophile of all parties in the world, including English parties. Try Googling. |
