Talking of 'hug vouchers' I found a couple today... one for a hug from Raedwulf and one for a hug from Col K.... that caused a wobbly lip for a while.... by far the biggest hugger on the 'Cat that I've met.

Hugs from northern Ohio are unusually wide because it's so flat here. There's nothing to restrict the circumference of the hug, once you're out among the soy beans. Here's one for Liz and everyone down the thread. It would take me a half-hour to type all the names, but I can send you a kind thought pretty quickly.

I also posted one for my 16-year-old son, who tends to resist hugs these days, but I remind him every so often that hugs generate endorphins, that the touch is important to health and development. My daughter has gotten back to giving good hugs (she's 20 now).

SRS, that's so funny. I told my son I needed the endorphins from hugs, when he became too much of a teen to want to hug. He outgrew that and is back to hugging again, but I only see him about once a month.

Thanks all. I needed this extra right now as I was trying to clean out the corral again today (I have poked at it a bit this year and not had much success) and not only do I not really know how (David always did this part and he did not teach me about it, really. I think we really did not believe he would be gone, at least not so fast.) And THEN the water pump quit with a great squeal and a lot of steam. My neighbors tractor is going into the shop so we have no idea how I am going to get this stupid job done and the sheep do NOT like the muck!

So I need all the hugs I can get. (and give)

Virtual hugs pack quite a punch when they come from someone with whom one has a personal connection. Usually that means a friendship of some duration or instant-soul-connection. But when the connection is dormant-- not so much.

Susan, I hear. That's much of why I was a bit shy about coming back. People who are on during their loved one's demise can ask for support, but I was gone 7 years, and way too occupied with caregiving at the end to even ask. But Liz in her kindness offered and it really did help. But too, sometime you just really need real arms.

And Jacqui-- I am REALLY looking forward to Saturday. I'll bring a sheet cake again.
