Subject: KFFC Winter Warmer Weekend 20th-22nd Feb
From: Banjiman
Date: 10 Dec 08 - 06:18 AM

After the success of the 2007 Winter Warmer & The Big Birthday Bash we have great please in bringing you the 3rd KFFC weekender…….. Winter Warmer Weekend 2. This event will run from Friday 20th February to Sunday 22nd February 2009.

Tickets: Friday £9, Saturday £12, Sunday £5………or full weekend for £20. That's 9.5 hours of quality acts and 11 hours of singaround (+ singing comp) for £20!!!!!

Tickets available from KFFC Website   via PayPal from December 15th. Or contact me at KFFC email .

Food, camper van space (free) and real ale bar all available as usual.

Some truly wonderful acts

The draft line up is:

Friday 20th Feb.

6.00pm to 8.30pm: Big Welcome Sing. Feel free to strut your stuff!

8.45pm - Sarah McQuaid
"Sarah's voice is both as warm as a turf fire and as rich as matured cognac while her guitar playing throughout should be a lesson to anyone unconvinced of the instrument's role in traditional music.." Geoff Wallis & Sue Wilson - The Rough Guide To Irish Music

10.00pm - Zoox
"Be prepared for a fabulous array of instruments from contrabassoon to congas.
Exciting arrangements, great musicianship and infectious energy typify the performances of Zoox in a show which is guaranteed to entertain and enchant."

Saturday 21st Feb.

11.00 a.m.-3.00p.m.: The Big Sing

3.00pm- TBC! Good traditional singing!

4.00pm - Edwina Hayes
- 'A wonderful young woman, so gifted and full of song, with a voice as sweet as the angels' Nanci Griffith

5.30pm - More singing!

7.45pm – Barbara Helen
"Barbara is possibly one of the finest solo singer / songwriters we have had the pleasure of seeing perform in a long time. Barbara quite literally puts her heart and soul into her performance - beautiful, inspiring and enchanting."

9.00pm – One Stone (Rebekah Findlay & Wendy Arrowsmith)
"What's all the fuss about? I will tell, both REBEKAH & WENDY, gave outstanding, stunning performances live to the world, two hours of beautiful music and singing from a professional and very talented duo." Terry Ferdinand, Bishop FM Folk show.

10.15pm – Sara Grey & Kieron Means
"Once you have heard Sara Grey you will never forget her. She has a certain quality of voice that compels you to give her your undivided attention. Her voice is both powerful and sweet with a distinctive and lovely tremolo. It is a voice well suited to native American ballads and ballads of Ireland and Scotland."

11.00 a.m. – The Big Sunday Sing

1.15 p.m. – Rudeigin
"Great playing and singing from this Scottish five piece"

Look forward to seeing you here in February.

Paul & The Gang.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to yourself, Wendy and all our friends in North Yorkshire.
Cheers P & B

Thanks Pete,

....and a merry Christmas to you and yours too.

You can now purchase tickets from me (send a cheque to the address on the website) or via PayPal......buy now buttons will be on the website today/ tomorrow.

This is to the world in general not the Kelk Brigade

I have a slight dilemma in that quite a few people who said they were coming to the BBB and asked for tickets to be saved backed out at the last minute or didn't turn up.......I had given out messages asking people not to travel if they didn't have tickets. This meant our numbers were down.

Would it be unreasonable to ask people to buy their tickets in advance? I'd rather not save tickets without the money having being paid up front......... but don't want to be unreasonable or put anyone off!

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

Paul

Not quite sure at the moment, Paul. Following on the death of Jools' dad, I've just been handed the lovely Christmas present of a redundancy notice. Hey, it never rains etc.

We'll have to see how things stand in the new year but it certainly looks like another great line up - and we really do need to get out and have a bit of a sing soon.

You know they will love it!

Good luck with this, Paul. It looks like a good 'un.

It doesn't seem unreasonable for folks to pay for tickets if they say they want them. Then, if they really can't make it closer to the time you haven't lost out financially. If, however, you manage to sell the unexpectedly spare capacity to any waiting list, you can refund the money*. That seems much more fair than reserving tickets on a no-risk-to-the-punter basis.

*And it doesn't seem unreasonable to subtract any expenses incurred, like bank/Paypal charges and/or postage.

Oh, and happy Christmas to you and and the happy KffCers!!!

Hamish

Convert? I think "Committed" as in "She should be....." is more like it!.

Banjiman, Maggie came to GFC last evening. We swopped banjo jokes all evening. :-)

See you soon,

John,

That is really good news.... ticket sales are not going well compared with the other weekends we've put on.

We need all the support we can get or Club funds will be totally wiped out! I'm hoping (in a strange way) that it is the recession and not the line-up / event?

Paul
