But I wish you well. I trust Yorkshire carols will be well represented in Cleckheaton - as they will be in Dungworth. |
Subject: RE: Carol sing at the Wickham Cleckheaton From: Tyke Date: 14 Dec 08 - 10:57 AM I remember when Geoff Pickles used to go round singing carols at the local Hospitals every year. It's a fact that nobody discharged themselves whilst they where singing. Happy Christmas Geoff and Jan but take it stead Santa you will have been out all night on your slay. George Santa |

Subject: RE: Carol sing at the Wickham Cleckheaton From: Lenny's mum (inactive) Date: 17 Dec 08 - 02:44 PM Last night I was listening to the radio when someone sang 'Christmas Bells' It reminded of Boxing Day when we sing it in the Wickham. I am really looking forward to it. See you there! I can't believe that in exactly one week time it will be Christmas day night. How time flys! |
Subject: RE: Carol sing at the Wickham Cleckheaton From: Carol Date: 17 Dec 08 - 03:57 PM I would love to have been there singing with you but will be in Scunthorpe Hospital instead, so if Geoff and clan would like to come carol singing there I'm sure you'd be welcome! |
Subject: RE: Carol sing at the Wickham Cleckheaton From: Lenny's mum (inactive) Date: 18 Dec 08 - 02:48 PM Oh Carol! I hope it isn't too serious! Having to spend Christmas in hospital is not a nice prospect, I was lucky, after spending 5 months in there (Bradford Royal Infirmary) I was able to escape on 19 December 2005. Wow, didn't realise it is my anniversary tomorrow. |
Subject: RE: Carol sing at the Wickham Cleckheaton From: GUEST Date: 18 Dec 08 - 03:03 PM Not a nice place to be at Christmas do hope you are OK Carol and it won't be long before your well and back home love to come and sing for you but Jan has only just got out of hospital to so will not be able to this time all the best Carol Geoff Pickles |
Subject: RE: Carol sing at the Wickham Cleckheaton From: Lenny's mum (inactive) Date: 26 Dec 08 - 04:46 PM Just a note to say how much I enjoyed the Carol singing at the Wickham Arms, Cleckheaton. The room was packed, John Browel played the music accompanied by Bruce Baillie on the guitar and Audrey Baillie on the flute. The Spenborough Longswords provided the dancing after the singing. It was magical. A perfect end to a very enjoyable Christmas. Thank you all for coming and joining in. All that remains is to look forward to coming year and all the folk festivals therein. Please remember Cleckheaton Folk Festival in the middle of the year, 3rd, 4th, and 5th July 2009. Hopefully see you there. Janet |
