I shall be in the Royal Hotel, Dungworth on Boxing Day, singing carols of course. But I wish you well. I trust Yorkshire carols will be well represented in Cleckheaton - as they will be in Dungworth.

I remember when Geoff Pickles used to go round singing carols at the local Hospitals every year. It's a fact that nobody discharged themselves whilst they where singing.

Happy Christmas Geoff and Jan but take it stead Santa you will have been out all night on your slay.

We'll be there hopefully. All the family will be joining us including those from Shrewsbury. Looking forward to it, it is always and enjoyable event. I would like to wish every one a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Perhaps I will see you at the Wickham but if not, probably see you in the New Year, some time, some where.

Last night I was listening to the radio when someone sang 'Christmas Bells' It reminded of Boxing Day when we sing it in the Wickham. I am really looking forward to it. See you there! I can't believe that in exactly one week time it will be Christmas day night. How time flys!

I would love to have been there singing with you but will be in Scunthorpe Hospital instead, so if Geoff and clan would like to come carol singing there I'm sure you'd be welcome!

Oh Carol!

I hope it isn't too serious! Having to spend Christmas in hospital is not a nice prospect, I was lucky, after spending 5 months in there (Bradford Royal Infirmary) I was able to escape on 19 December 2005. Wow, didn't realise it is my anniversary tomorrow.

Just a note to say how much I enjoyed the Carol singing at the Wickham Arms, Cleckheaton. The room was packed, John Browel played the music accompanied by Bruce Baillie on the guitar and Audrey Baillie on the flute. The Spenborough Longswords provided the dancing after the singing. It was magical. A perfect end to a very enjoyable Christmas. Thank you all for coming and joining in.

All that remains is to look forward to coming year and all the folk festivals therein. Please remember Cleckheaton Folk Festival in the middle of the year, 3rd, 4th, and 5th July 2009. Hopefully see you there.

Janet

Just missed the carol singing at the Wickham but chatted to Geoff and one or two others before another sing at The Saw pub and another dance by Spenborough

Roy Atkinson in fine voice and John Browel is a treasure of tunes on his melodeon

I also managed to get to The Kings Head at Heath Common for Wakefield Morris annual dance out at Boxing day

happy New Year
