Subject: FolkTuneFinder on Youtube From: Richard Bridge Date: 04 Jan 09 - 01:20 PM I only just found this and I have not yet figured out how to use it but I ahve seen nothing about it previously on here and it might be handy. http://www.facebook.com/pages/FolkTuneFindercom/9205300291 |

Subject: RE: FolkTuneFinder on Youtube From: Geoff the Duck Date: 05 Jan 09 - 07:08 AM The facebook page seems to be a discussion group page relating to an external website. What appeared to be a link to the site didn't escape from facebook when I clicked it, but copying the actual text from the link gets us HERE. Quack! Geoff. |

Subject: RE: FolkTuneFinder on Youtube From: Geoff the Duck Date: 05 Jan 09 - 07:18 AM There seems to be a glitch in the Mudcat message posting box. It has for some strange reason added exra bits I did not type, on to the address I DID type in my BLICKY link. The address was "http://www.folktunefinder.com/". When I try the Message Posting "preview" box, it is adding line breaks and a "target=top" bit of code not typed by me. Don't know why it is happening. Maybe a Mudelf can correct the link and remove this posting. Quack! Geoff the Duck. |

Subject: RE: FolkTuneFinder on Youtube From: Will Fly Date: 05 Jan 09 - 07:51 AM The URL for this site is: Folk Tune Finder which should work. Interesting site. I tried out the notes search facility without much success - too many variations on the tunes I input, probably, but the title search worked OK... Could be a good add-on to TheSession, which doesn't include English tunes. |

Subject: RE: FolkTuneFinder on Youtube From: Jack Campin Date: 05 Jan 09 - 08:12 AM TheSession includes a lot of English tunes, it just labels them as Irish. Where does YouTube come into it? folktunefinder looks for ABCs, not YouTube videos. A thematic index for those would be far beyond present-day technology. |
