You have just put a very bright spot in a day that is not going well. Thanks.

All the best,

Mick

It's a cute story on the face of it, but I think those parents need to ask themselves whether they didn't celebrate New Years too long and too late.

As many as four parents, and none of them heard these children getting up, getting dressed, and leaving the house?

Such young children getting on the tram, and nobody says 'Where's your mama?'

Oh, I love that sort of young idealism! I remember feeling just that way at about the same age. Anything seems possible just because you believe.

Well, obviously somebody DID say "Where's your mama" .

The touching thing for me is remembering the abiding confidence one has at that age -- having only recently learned to walk and talk -- that between those two skills, you can go anywhere and do anything!!

I heard the story on the radio driving home last night, and like Big Mick, it put a sunny stamp for me on a dull day. Sure, there may have been some loopholes that allowed this to happen, but for me the point is the wide-eyed innocence of those children, that cuts across a world of fears and dangers, risk assessments and the evil in society, the nanny state and frequent abandonment of children by their parents, to what should be possible, just because it's nice.

Father Christmas exists BECAUSE of them. And the Tooth Fairy as well.

Peter Pan would have definitely approved.

*eyes shut tight* think happy thoughts now!

Animaterra, I am glad my Morgan doesn't have a "girlfriend," yet! Wow, what a cute thing...glad they are safe and I agree with the others about the power of innocent belief. It's powerful and a good reminder to us all to believe in more, imo. Thanks, darlin'!

I don't believe him. Heading for another country where multiple wives are allowed, and taking a spare sheila as a 'witness?'
No chance. The lucky sod was going to marry both of them!

Lucky because that was his plan, or lucky because it was foiled?
