Thanks to JudyO for plunging me into Facebook. I've already connected with lots of current friends, thanks to her, and gone beyond to extended degrees of separation.

Learning an unknown connection between two mutual friends is interesting and rewarding, in this case a blues radio guy and an NC old time musician.

I appreciate the fellowship and community and I recommend it to you all.

I sent Facebook a change of e mail address but they ignore it and continue to send emails to my old Yahoo address.

Kendall, I am sure you have followed this process to change your email on Facebook but not confirmed or something; this is the whole process:

Click on "Edit my profile" under your profile picture,
Click on "contact information"
then "Add/Remove Email Addresses"
by "Contact Email" click "change"
click on "enter new email address" and do so,
then click "Change Contact Email".

You are then asked to enter your Facebook password to confirm the change.
Enter, click "confirm" and a confirmation email is then sent to your newly-entered email address.

I guess you are then expected to reply to this email they send out, in order to confirm the new address is active.

If all of these steps are not followed they will continue using your old email address.

the Facebook upheaval is continuing. I'm participating and it's fun, I see no ill effects and marvel at the sense of community.

Now if I just had some friends in Israel or Syria or Iran so that I could send messages of peace.

For those interested in, or using, Facebook, advice from the AV maker Sophos (found by accident) might be useful. I've been told that setting up the appropriate permissions and limits on a Facebook account can be a bit of a puzzle, so Sophos offers:
