Subject: UK: Birthday bash fror Don T/Clive L/Kev H. From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 12 Jan 09 - 07:46 PM In celebration of the birthdays on Feb 3rd of Don T, and Feb 8th of Kevin H (Melodeonboy), and Feb 15th of Clive L (Wildrover), and of the inadvertent retirement of the reluctant pensioner, Don T. We proudly announce a day of musical mayhem, to which all friends, enemies, and acquaintances of the aforementioned trio of hard drinking reprobates, are invited. Venue:- The Greyhound Pub, Wheeler Street, Maidstone, Kent (Junction with Holland Road). Time:- Twelve Noon till Ten Thirty post meridiem, or prior falling down time. The purpose:- To raise the roof of the venue, celebrate the aforementioned birthdays, and more important, to give the retiring publican a send-off he will remember till his dying day, and long may that be. All joking aside folks, although the birthdays are real, and will be celebrated to the full, the real point is to thank Peter & Ronnie for the support they have unstintingly provided for years, and to send them into a hopefully happy retirement, secure in the knowledge that they are LOVED for who, and what, they are. Please make the effort to come and say your farewells to two stalwarts of the Kent folk scene. Thank you Don T. |

Subject: RE: UK: Birthday bash fror Don T/Clive L. From: Girl Friday Date: 13 Jan 09 - 11:36 AM Sounds like a day to remember- or forget if too much falling over juice is imbibed! I sincerely hope that Mumblin' will be up for driving that far by then, in which case TDL will show up. Whether TDL will perform is at present doubful. Mr Leopard can't get the volume in his voice as yet, and though he knows a lot of quiet songs, hwe don't like singing them. |

Subject: RE: UK: Birthday bash fror Don T/Clive L. From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Feb 09 - 03:21 AM A very good turnout - but alas from the door end it was quite impossible to hear what was happening at the fireplace end. Even Clive an his mighty Wurlitzer could not be heard clearly enough to join in with. |

Subject: RE: UK: Birthday bash fror Don T/Clive L. From: melodeonboy Date: 09 Feb 09 - 05:26 AM Yes, it was a bit noisy for some of the afternoon, and it's a bit of a distance from the door to the fireplace. Thanks to all who came (and there were a lot of you!); I had a cracking birthday. The other two birthday boys appeared to be having a good time as well, and I think Peter and Ronnie (landlord and landlady) really appreciated it. |

Subject: RE: UK: Birthday bash fror Don T/Clive L. From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 10 Feb 09 - 09:10 AM OUR HEARTFELT THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME! It was a marvellous splurge of a singaround, and I've nothing but praise for those who came and joined us, packing the pub solid for the whole afternoon, after which, a more serene but none the less enjoyable evening's singing finally ended about eleven. I couldn't give names without being sure to leave somebody out, but YOU know who you are, and I won't forget this birthday. All in all a great party, and a good, solid, send-off for our hosts, Peter & Ronnie, who are both sad to be going. Don T. |
