This morning I was offered and took the Lead position for my department. I will be overseeing transcriptionists and schedulers in the Radiology department at the hospital where I work. It'll be a fun new challenge with lots to learn and a pretty decent pay raise to boot. Finally, some good news!

Hopefully I won't be pulling my hair out and mumbling to myself in 6 months....

Yeah, Becca. It's not a good answer to a supervisor either.

Mine asked me if i was banging the "XYZ" accounts meaning calling all of them ASAP. I demurely replied that my plan was to call them on the phone.
He blushed and muffled laughter was heard throughout the office.
I couldn't help it.

My aunt was at the radiology dept of our local hospital a while back. Been lots of stuff in the newspapers about wait times for everything. A doc came in with her daughter who had a broken ankle and made a real pain of herself LOUDLY about having to wait for service, even asking the receptionist, "Do you know who I am?" The response was, "Yes, and so do most of the other people who have been sitting here waiting patiently for their turn."

I have been to that doc's clinic with my aunt and with my mum... while there, I have seen other patients, who had to drive five hours to her clinic, wait for over six hours.

I'd like to say those words to her!

Thanks, all. I don't usually like to pat myself on the back but this is a big step up for me and 2 years ago at this time of year was a very dark period for me so I'm glad for the turnaround.

And Rap, I've never even used a fly rod so for all anyone knows I could be fantastic at it.
