Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: maeve Date: 28 Feb 09 - 05:30 PM Dried mushrooms keep indefinitely. Or cook the excess in olive oil and a little butter, and freeze them. I've bought them in 15 pound cases without regret. My Truelove is welcome to select and buy the groceries any time he wants to. Better still, we can both go, as we did yesterday, and enjoy some time together while shopping. Congratulations to you all for a fruitful month here. Onward and upward! maeve |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 28 Feb 09 - 04:41 PM Yes, Maryanne!! Congratulations! My Rog has passed the one year mark and is doing well. Keep it up. We spent about an hour cleaning up the backyard, front yard and the driveway, as much as possible with my sisters' stuff still under tarps in the driveway. It does look better with teh front walk swept clean, etc. My yarrow is sprouting, so I cut back the old four-foot stalks. Then I spent about an hour in the house moving stuff, putting it away, etc. All told about two hours of good exertion, bending, lifting, sweeping, pushing, moving, etc. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 28 Feb 09 - 03:36 PM Congrats on getting through February without a cigarette Maryanne. Liz...if I let Paul go to the supermarket on his tod I end up with a freezer full of bread, cake and pizza even if I give him a list! How many mushroom recipes do you have? *G* |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: maire-aine Date: 28 Feb 09 - 03:07 PM Looks like I'll be able to make it through February without a cigarette. Still not happy to do without. You'd think they'd be able to come up with a cigarette that doesn't kill ya'. Maryanne |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Eye Lander Date: 28 Feb 09 - 01:24 PM Hi Kat and thanks for the welcome - again!! Still decorating this bloody house. 2lbs down so far this week. Not much on the exercise front buy hey fairly motivated and have kept to my points. Jillie |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 28 Feb 09 - 12:25 PM So here's why I don't send my husband shopping. He's come home this morning from shopping for the family with a chicken (for a sit down meal we have no space for at the moment), potatoes we didn't need, more mushrooms than even I can use in a week, two creamy cheesecakes - knowing full well I'm not supposed to eat cheesecake - and no fruit. Humph. I feel it's going to be a bad week again... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 28 Feb 09 - 09:10 AM today was a 4 mile walk and an hours LBT class with a different instructor. I can definitly feel my legs this afternoon! |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 27 Feb 09 - 10:55 PM More running around today, lots of walking; I walked the tight muscle right out and my foot feels better! Lots to do this weekend. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 27 Feb 09 - 12:58 AM Did a lot around the house, today, including laundry, some sweeping up once Morgan got done shredding (he made his first Mudcat post today in the declutter thread!) and a few other things. Working on a tight muscle in the calf of my left leg. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: LilyFestre Date: 26 Feb 09 - 08:40 PM 75 Minutes of Rajastic yoga & hours of shopping today (baby shopping adventures are FUN!) Michelle |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 26 Feb 09 - 05:26 PM The best thing for buns is cream and jam... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: MAG Date: 26 Feb 09 - 03:19 PM Gave myself a sick-of-work day today, with great intentions of: tidying my practice space so I can take it more seriously, etc. Nada yet. I seem to have a pulled muscle in my butt. Probably the machine which simulates, with weight, that leg back thing ballerinas do. It's supposed to be good for toning buns, so I am giving it a try. This only happens on the right side. My inside cat, as usual, having a hissy fit that I'm on the 'puter. At least the laundry is getting done. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 26 Feb 09 - 10:39 AM Jillie, welcome back and GOOD for you!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 26 Feb 09 - 05:55 AM I've got 3 classes booked over the weekend and I'm looking forward to them. I'm addicted to exercise now, I feel great for doing it and I can see the results too. Saturday will be LBT class Sunday will be Body Balance which is like yoga followed by Step Class. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Eye Lander Date: 26 Feb 09 - 05:06 AM Hello Peeps Supposedly back on the case again. 19 points per day. Working with a long distance pal this time so that should help too. Positive at the moment. Jillie |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: LilyFestre Date: 25 Feb 09 - 07:45 PM Yoga, 60 Minutes Painting the nursery, a little over an hour or so. Lots of squatting to do the lower walls....my thighs are loving it! YUM! Michelle who went to yoga last night too but only in the capacity as *staff photographer*...killed me to listen to the directives, be in the yoga space and NOT get all bendy. My body was CRAVING it. I am SO addicted to yoga!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 25 Feb 09 - 05:29 PM I have managed 30 mins on the WiiFit 4 times in the last week, plus extra walking over the weekend. All this, and being good over the last couple of days means I weighed in at half a pound less than last week! So I've officially lost 14.5lbs... now all I need to do is stay good! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 25 Feb 09 - 03:51 PM 2.4 pounds let go this past week! I am sure it has a lot to do with my being able to get on the treadmill, finally because I have gone over my points. It feels good to get back on track. Lots of walking, playing, cleaning up and out! |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: GUEST,MAG at work Date: 25 Feb 09 - 02:25 PM I made it to the Y this morning, but got a look at myself in the mirror before I went to work out. I had gotten out these tights which do actually fit fine, but there was no way I was going to go work out with these buns as peominent as they are. Back to the sweats, and the sweats only, until further notice. Hot tub felt good, tho' ... |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 24 Feb 09 - 06:35 PM I know where that 5lbs has gone... either that or I found it in the beer at Sidmouth. It's been a baaaad baaaaaaaaaaad month for so many reasons! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 24 Feb 09 - 03:45 PM I've lost 5 lbs over the past few days but it's down to exhaustion and worry as the twins have been in hospital since Thursday with a viral chest infection. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: GUEST,MAG at work Date: 24 Feb 09 - 03:00 PM Had to refresh this; I need it. Continuing to work out; weight fluctuating between 197 and 199. Still trying unsuccessfully to adapt to the C-PAP for insomnia; now on rezerem, ans mild tranq, and a new antidpressant for insomnia. At least none of them cause weight gain. Loss of retirement $$ has me really depressed. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 21 Feb 09 - 10:59 PM A couple of hours lifting and moving bins as we went through them. Had to sit for part of it, but I was still using my upper body muscles.:-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 20 Feb 09 - 03:27 PM Walking and pushing a full cart while dodging a bee-bopping five year old:-) for about 45 minutes; playing ball with him for about thirty minutes at class. Laundry, running errands...pretty busy, today, and it feels good. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 20 Feb 09 - 05:00 AM 30 mins on the WiiFit again, but only 15 mins of walking yesterday... what can I say, I was passing the bus stop and one pulled up and the doors opened... it would have been rude not to get on! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 20 Feb 09 - 12:59 AM Some major stretches - 10 minutes T-5 |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 19 Feb 09 - 10:54 AM Yesterday, between going to the park, twice, with Morgan, walking elsewhere, and playing ball with him, I had about 45 minutes of activity, mostly walking. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Feb 09 - 06:32 PM Oh, and another 30 mins of WiiFit stuff, including 10 mins of steps. No wonder my ankles are protesting! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Feb 09 - 05:01 PM Official weigh in says I haven't lost anything, but neither had I gained, so that's something... I blame the antibiotics I'm on, half term and the prospect of a weekend of beer! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 18 Feb 09 - 04:25 PM The LBT class last night was hard, but I managed to keep up. I certainly felt it this morning! Did a 3 mile walk with double buggy this morning. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 18 Feb 09 - 01:12 PM New computer, new clothes, new hairdo, massage, manicure? CONGRATULATIONS,MAG, you are an Inspiration!! Despite eating beyond my points this past week, today was weigh-in day and I've lost 1.4 lbs! Shocked as that was not what I was expecting. I'll take it, though!! Must've been the treadmill, etc. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: GUEST,mag at work Date: 18 Feb 09 - 12:00 PM Good going, everybody! Maybe incipient spring is inspiring all of us. I'm till down a hair under 200 lb., so I think I can safely say it's real; I've broken that wall. It can be done. Can anybody think of a way to celebrate which does not involve calories?? Maybe a new computer ... |

Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 17 Feb 09 - 07:13 AM Yep they count Liz!!....next time you could have a baby on each ankle!! *G* Got another lowfat chicken recipe to try out this evening Tonight I've got a 4 mile walk and an hours LBT class. I think I might be getting addicted to exercise!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 16 Feb 09 - 05:13 PM Do leg lifts with a baby on my ankle count? The baby didn't seem to mind but my thigh muscle is complaining now.... :D LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 15 Feb 09 - 09:08 AM Yesterday was a 4mile walk plus 1 hours LBT class. Today was the same 4 mile walk and 1 hours high intensity step aerobics class which should just about make up for my chocolate mousse indulgence last night, always tastes better homemade! *G* |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 14 Feb 09 - 02:10 AM Thanks, maeve...I don't think you need to worry about your "grumpy meter"...it sounds just fine to me.:-) 10 minutes on the treadmill tonight plus some good stretches I used to do which are really helping. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Catherine Jayne Date: 13 Feb 09 - 08:17 AM I've been looking into getting a wiifit and balance board, theres some good deals at the moment but it will have to wait a couple of months as I've just shelled out for a years sports centre membership. The low fat eating plan seems to be working and the food tastes great too which is an added bonus. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: maeve Date: 13 Feb 09 - 06:45 AM Not a problem, kat.:) I'll turn down the volume on my grumpy meter. Much better sounds much better. That's great news. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: katlaughing Date: 13 Feb 09 - 12:49 AM Sorry, maeve. Of course you know what is needed and best. Correct footgear, stretches etc. sound good! The doc I went to this week did miracles. My dau. didn't take the treadmill. Tonight, I got on it for a full seven minutes and my feet didn't hurt, still don't! I think I am on my way to being much better. |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: maeve Date: 12 Feb 09 - 06:54 PM Thanks for your comments & concerns. My body also knows a farm requires certain things to be done if we are to eat and pay bills. There isn't always an option. The only way for my feet to recover is for me to do the correct stretches and wear the correct footgear and to walk every day. There is no one else to do my job, and growing season has begun in the greenhouse and cellar. I have stayed off my feet as long as possible. It's time to get back to work. Best regards, maeve |
Subject: RE: BS: Accountability-Feb.-month of purification From: Liz the Squeak Date: 12 Feb 09 - 06:45 PM I am officially adicted to my WiiFit balance board! Clocked up another 20 mins today - it was too soon after dinner but there was a TV programme I didn't want to miss - half that was step class, and now my ankles are asking me not to do it again! I've been lax about my walking to the station, but I'm noticing that I don't notice the distance so much, if that makes sense? LTS |
