Manchester is in the north of England. I don't think anyone has actually said it's either in Scotland or in the north of Scotland. I loathe Londoncentrism as much as anyone but don't turn a snowman into a strawman! |

Subject: RE: Coping with snow in Britain From: Stu Date: 03 Feb 09 - 06:57 AM "they think that Manchester is in the north" Relative to them, it is. I would have that that was pretty bloody obvious, and if you're looking for a stick to beat English people with at least have some imagination. |
Subject: RE: Coping with snow in Britain From: manitas_at_work Date: 03 Feb 09 - 06:37 AM Fucking whingeing again, eh Goat? If we're so soft how some Glasgae's no the capital of the UK? Most of us down here aren't pissed off with the weather but with the fact that the people who're supposed to keep the roads and rails open aren't doing the job. We'd get out and get to work if there was any transport (actually I made it today) but most of us have commutes of more than 30 miles and I know a few people who travel more than 100 miles each way. Perhaps we could all move to the true North but then you'd be whingeing about us taking all your jobs and putting house prices up. Oops, I forgot we're doing that anyway! |
Subject: RE: Coping with snow in Britain From: goatfell Date: 03 Feb 09 - 06:25 AM it's only white rain, I mean you're not going to die because it snows, i mean the soft sotherners think the world has come to an end and there are places in Scotland that doesn't get snow every year the place where I live it snowed on Monday and by Tuesday it was away. So the soft southerners are crying again and getting their facts wrong about Scotland and the north of England, they think that Manchester is in the north but it really in the South if you live in Scotland |
