In excellent form, in fact! I just got back to Maine from a lovely day in Portsmouth where I met and heard not only Hilary and Richard, but also Jon and Rika, and had a chance to see a whole bunch of other great folks I've known for a while but don't see often enough, AND got to hear Finn and Haddie with Ken Schatz -- a special treat for me, as you might imagine.

You Getaway folks are going to love Hilary, by the way. Beautiful voice, great songs, fine person -- the whole works.

Counting the days,
Nancy

Just checking in while waiting for our next connection with Joe, we've been off-line for a while in the Poconos & have been resting up following our wonderful whirlwind tour during the Portsmouth Maritime Festival.

We've had such a great time & everyone has been just wonderful, looking after us and driving us around, especially Barry, Sinsull & jacqui.c & of course to Bat Godess and curmudgeon for allowing me the opportunity of sharing some songs! What a fantastic festival, really friendly with such a good range of performers and venues. Absolutely wonderful, thankyou all so much for all your help and advice! We'll check in after the Getaway, if we survive all the fun *grin*

Love & Hugs,
Hil & Richard xx

Have fun, Hilary. I know you will- fun seems to follow you around.

As for grits? I prefer yellow grits, cooked in milk with salt and pepper (just enough), a splash of cream, a touch of butter, and some good cheese grated in. Eat them hot with good sausage on the side. They are also tasty with bacon crumbled over, chopped green onions, and poached eggs.

It's just polenta, really.

Have Hilary and Richard made it back to the cottage?

They left behind a bag of sweets and a really good CD of herself singing.

Of course one of the candy bars is named Kendal Mint Cake and I don't know what to do with that.

Kendal Mint Cake

You're supposed to climb up a mountain, get lost or cut off by drifting snow and then eat it to survive; or to give you enough oomh to get back down the mountain

Guru in America - whatever next

Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize?

Chance - if you really don't know what to do with it send it to me! That stuff is just wonderful - you don't need to climb a mountain to try it.

Kendall Mint Cake - YUMMMMM!
I had one I broke into pieces and kept in the refrigerator in plastic. Too sweet to eat all at once but a real treat in the evening. I prefer the plain. No chocolate covering.

Hilary and Richard - we decided that you need to move to Maine. OK?

Well. I'm overwhelmed. We'll climb the cellar stairs and, then famished and near death will split it!

Thanks in advance Hilary and Richard for the rejuvenation.

If anyone sees them ask them to let us know they're safely home.

They're off to another folk festival this weekend, in Banbury I believe.

They got home OK - Richard was overwhelmed by the reaction to his voice and has promised to sing more than he has done to date.

At last a few minutes at the PC, still catching up from our whirlwind tour followed by Banbury Festival.

Yes, we're home safe & full of magical memories of meeting so many good friends across the pond. It was fantastic to be able to get to (and sing at) the Portsmouth Maritime Festival and also the FSGW Getaway, not to mention Dave Goulder's house concert at TRUBRIT's and Chance & Susette's Pre-Getaway Sing.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped us along the way, who gave us advice, house room and who filled our hearts with such good music, song and friendship - You Know Who You ARE!!!!

One day, maybe, we'll get across the pond again, but please let us know if you're visiting the UK & we'd hope to have you visit with us & help you along the way!

Love & Hugs,
Hil & Richard xxx
