I am not a Daily Mail reader but they have an awsome pic of River Chelmer in Chelmsford (where I live and work).

Flooded Chelmsford

That white building in the lower left corner is where I work.

Been a thrilling day.

"After the freeze, the floods: A month's rain in one night leave roads flooded as winter storms sweep across Britain"

It has been a bit damp... I prefer the snow to the evil cutting wind that was whistling around my building at 7.00am today...

Regrettably the rain got me last night. My PA rig that was in the garage is more than a bit soggy )it was 10 inches deep in there), many sacks of old client papers were inundated, and the laundry room was a couple of inches deep too. I fear this will make the house both uninsurable and unsaleable.

God Richard... Sorry. Maybe we all ought to come out Saturday to dry you out before we get soaked at the session on Sunday.

Roads were fine... had to go into work early due to leaving car off for MOT, so no traffic to speak of.

I will be typing up today's managment team meeting notes tonight after our weekly shop... because after the meeting my OUTLOOK would not stop pestering me with other DO THIS NOW reminders and other crucial things. The curse of playing diary jockey for one head of service and 6 managers.

Sigh. They don't pay me enough. So no practice for me tonight. Waiting for Chris to collect me right now.

Think we will do chinese take way and not cook after the shop.   I just can't face another chore between shopping and typing.

What I find most frustrating is that we can't seem to hang on to all that water !! We only need to have a dry Spring, and below-average rainfall in June and July, and by August it will be hosepipe bans and standpipes in the streets again !!

too right bubbly

When my youngest was about 7 or 8 she asked, why can't there be pipelines to carry water to drought areas? She went on to wonder why someone didn't make reservoirs of areas that regularly suffered flooding so the fresh water didn't run off into oceans.

I think at the time we were experiencing torrential rains and flash flooding and across the country there were forest fires reported on the news.
