She arrived on the 'rurl lurcamurtive' wearing an extraordinary yellow hat which would have been clearly visible from Goole. I understand it was wild mushroom tart and fillet steak for lunch -obviously Bob Carvers didnt win the contract then. I didnt spot Les from Hull waving the Union flag in the crowd. She went to The Ferens Art Gallery too-obviously to catch Oakley's portrait in the Open Exhibition. Vive La Republic say I!

Someone could slip her a CARA CD? Perhaps Sir Oaks will be féted with "Fiddler to HM" or some such?

I can just see her and Big Chill Phil crusin in the Rolls, boppin big time time to "Exile's Son".

So we've started letting royalty in again, have we? No bloody sense of tradition. (I live a just a few rods, poles or perches away from the Beverley Gate, where in 1642 the folks 'from Hull' told King Charles I that he couldn't come in - he was probably wearing trainers - and that he'd better have a Civil War.)
