Subject: A Guitar For Beginners ... ? From: JohnInKansas Date: 10 Apr 09 - 01:07 AM A review of something I hadn't seen before, although perhaps others may already know about it. A guitar with built in lights on the fretboard, so that the "correct" fret lights up to tell you where to put your flabby fingers. I didn't look far enough to see how many accessories are necessary to make it work. Pending further comment from others, perhaps the less I say the better for all, but if anyone thinks this might be worth a look: Fretlight Guitar John |
Subject: RE: A Guitar For Beginners ... ? From: Mavis Enderby Date: 10 Apr 09 - 02:38 AM I think these (or similar) have been around for a while - I certainly saw something similar advertised in Guitar magazines when I finally grew out of them in the early 90's. It kind of reminds me of an advert that keeps popping up on Youtube - "Click here to rule the neck and be a blues god very fast": free guide reveals 47 hot blues tricks" - yeah, that's what this music stuff is all about! All good displacement activities - i.e. spending money instead of listening, learning, practicing and playing with others... You know, if instead of LEDs they put solenoids in the neck you wouldn't have to fret at all.... Pete the Luddite. |
