Don't know if anyone's interested, but Mercury is visible in the west tonight, about 7.30, local time (or 8.30 summer time) and then on for a while. (I'm afraid I missed part of the first set of the brilliant blues at Fox and Hounds last night trying to photograph it.)

Penny

Oh, the planet. I thought you meant either the silvery liquid metal or Freddy.

Don't think we have a chance of seeing it - it's very wet here in Maine and very cloudy.

Tonight it's just below the thin crescent Moon, which is just below the Pleiades.

Named after the nekkid guy with the wings on his hard-hat and tenny-runners. The messenger of the gods.

Last night I posted in the Walkabouts thread by mistake>
I just said how it was a rare if not spectacular sight in UK and how it was usually hard to find.
The lovely crescent, with the old moon in its arms, showed the way perfectly.
Thanks Penny.
Did you get a picture?

Wow!
I could not even see the pleides last night.
And the topography on the dark side.
