Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: Ebbie Date: 21 May 09 - 11:10 AM Mine is turquoise/acqua. Lovely. I checked the price and availability of kiviut in Juneau. It is available, all right, but the price is $84 per ounce! A Link to Qiviut I've seen it and handled it only in a hood but it is marvelous stuff. Picture a cloud with a little substance stirred in. |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: katlaughing Date: 21 May 09 - 12:18 PM Wow, Ebbie, what a neat site! Thanks. I esp. liked reading their letters. I, too, have a Jacqui shawl...a beautiful deep green. And, an MMario one, too. I admit it, I feel completely spoiled.:-) |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: ClaireBear Date: 21 May 09 - 02:14 PM Mine is a beautiful blue, and more a stole than a shawl. Makes me feel quite regal when I wear it. Lovely work from a lovely friend, Jacqui! Claire |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: mouldy Date: 22 May 09 - 01:24 PM Mine's red and cuddly, and she also did lovely white blankets for both my little granddaughters. The latest is going to get used on Sunday for Freya's christening, I think...I hope! Thanks, Jacqui! Andrea |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: Nancy King Date: 23 May 09 - 09:05 AM Mine's purple (how did she know that was my favorite color?), and I love it! Thank you, Jacqui! Nancy |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: Janie Date: 23 May 09 - 09:20 AM And mine is a lovely Carolina blue. We need a "Jacqui Shawl" for Jacqui! Janie |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: jacqui.c Date: 23 May 09 - 11:27 AM Thank you for the kind words. I so enjoy the process of making the shawls and blankets and get a lot of selfish satisfaction when I think of the reaction when someone opens the package. That,in itself, is enough reward. I read somewhere that crochet (and knitting) are as good for stress relief as yoga - if that is so I must be positively horizontal! Anyway, if I kept everything I made we wouldn't be able to move for woolly stuff! |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: My guru always said Date: 23 May 09 - 06:41 PM Mine's in Cadbury Purple, just perfect! Description of jacqui - busy hands, huge heart {{jacqui}} |
Subject: RE: BS: A Jacqui Shawl From: Bat Goddess Date: 23 May 09 - 06:51 PM Mine is rich tones of blue, green and purple -- magnificent combination! (And my favorite colors.) Big enough that I can engulf myself and my huge smile (thinking of Jacqui) in it. I wore black with silver jewelry and wrapped my body in it to attend an operatic recital (featuring our up-the-hill neighbors' daughter with an amazing voice) and felt the most elegantly turned out person in the audience. She also made me a smaller, more lace-like summer wrap. Continuing thank yous! Jacqui, have you read "The Knitting Sutra: Craft as a Spiritual Practice" by Susan G. Lydon? Linn |
