According to a company wide email today it looks like I may not be layed off in the foreseeable future, 6 mos Id guess before a reassesment might be needed. Thats the good news, the bad news is I a graphic artist working for a reigional daily newspaper in the advertising department. Condition Orange!

I'd say yellow, up from red a few months ago and orange a few weeks ago. But I did lose one job. mg

Likewise. Right now the Library's budget for next year is effectively the same as this year -- no COLA, no raises, but everyone keeps their jobs.

We seem to be going through a redundancy round every 18 months.

I escaped the last one but had to take a cut in grade in the one before.
I reckon I will probably go next year but with the extra service my payoff should cover the mortgage.

Waiting for the Essex Transformation to be complete. External delivery partner to take on first the IT, then all back office tasks.

What will happen to my grade or pension isn't the worry. Will I have to apply for my own job? Very likely.

Only a matter of time until nearly all local authority services will be supplied by the private sector.
