Subject: Les P. integrated voc.mic. From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 27 May 09 - 09:29 AM I caught a few minutes of a tv docu. on the Carpenters. Les Paul/Mary Ford cited as one of Richard C's influences in his arranging and an old clip was shown of Les & Mary both playing guiars with swan's-neck type vocal mikes coming direcly out of the guitars. One of Les's inventione that didn't catch on, I suspect. OK while seated but cumbersome if moving around, I guess! RtS |

Mary's guitar playing looked flashy as well. On a related subject-did you hear the BBCR2 prog on backing singers by one of Diane E's nemeses at 10.30 am last Saturday? If not,it might be worth catching it on Listen Again. LPF |
