They're at it again. Why am I attracting these emails? Wish I knew - I thought I'd made it clear enough that I saw through them last time! This is what turned up in my email box today. I thought Estmeed was some sort of Welsh music/fertility festival held annually every year along somewhere in Cornwall or the Orkneys which celebrated the bees that produced the honey for the mead.

Oh, I did. I didn't want to show off by showing off. I've always been a big fan of folk songs like the plaintive and touching "Colwyn prys oksentaminen" with its wonderful, ethereal harp interlude with the broken 7ths.

Seems Prof Carter is in Nigeria at present. The originating IP address of the mail was 83.229.101.69 owned by Reliance Telecommunications Limited Reltelwireless, of Nigeria.

Maybe the medical school are in Nigeria studying techniques of historically informed operations using on genuine old instruments.

So Prof Chris Carter seems to be the brother of the Louis Carter who contacted me, and they both live in Shepperton at the same address. They do, however, have a different phone number, so that's OK.
I do like the idea of combining musical and medical instruments, though, and that he needs to order them in large quantities, and that he can then put on his concert in September.

You've got to hand it to them - it's a more original approach than asking you to bank vast sums of money left in dubious circumstances! At least this scam doesn't appeal to anyone's dishonest streak.
