BS: Myspace Friends Disappeared - Help!

Subject: BS: Myspace Friends Disappeared - Help!

I administer the myspace site for WasPsi. I had built up 30+ friends, and suddenly all these friends (except for the two you always get on registering) have disappeared from the friendspace. I have sent a message to Myspace Admin and am waiting for a reply to see if they can reinstate the friends.

I did think of sending out friend requests again, but the system usually checks and won't let you send duplicates.

I have never before heard of this happening. Has anyone else come across this before please?

I've just been chatting on Myspace with one of my "former friends". He says it happened to him once on Facebook, and he lost 300+ friends. Never got them back, had to start again from scratch. This doesn't look encouraging. I assume the Myspace Admin team don't work weekends, wonder if they'll reply soon?

Has anyone else had this experience? Does it happen often?

Joan- You'll get some responses tomorrow, I expect. Sundays are rather quiet here. I don't use either site, so I can't offer any help.

Out of orbit so fast you couldn't see them leave...

And the Admin haven't replied yet. I have a sinking feeling it's a bug in the system that may not be fixable. I'd still be interested to know if it's happened to anyone else, though, and what (if anything) they did about it.

It's when your real friends start disappearing that you've got to worry, Joan.

Having had no reply from Myspace Admin, I spent a great deal of time on Monday night trying to send duplicate friend requests. Most of them the system wouldn't send for the reason "X is already a friend of yours", although some, inexplicably, it did send!

On Tuesday all the friends reappeared in the friend space. Whether this was as a result of my trying to send all the friend requests again, or whether Myspace Admin pressed the right buttons, I don't know (they've still not replied). But I'm glad the problem is now resolved. (I didn't know straight away as I couldn't access the internet until late Wednesday because of server crash (Virgin)).

And an unexpected bonus as a result of this thread - another friend on Myspace - thank you again, Sedayne.
