Subject: RE: BS: Is this spending kosher? From: GUEST,Joe Offer, at the Women's Center Date: 20 Jul 09 - 08:43 PM Is this spending kosher? I dunno, Bruce. Can I have a cheeseburger and think about it? Yes, I think it's worthwhile to publish Recovery Act actions on the Web, and spending money on the publishing is certainly justified. However, it's a bit tricky, because there's always the possibility of using such "publishing" as an opportunity to blow one's own horn. My Republican Congressman used to send out a lavish newsletter the August before every Congressional election. That's the only time we'd ever hear from him - that is, until the FBI started investigating him for taking brives from Abramoff. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: BS: Is this spending kosher? From: Joe Offer Date: 21 Jul 09 - 02:10 AM Why start holding ourselves accountable now? Because, for a change, we have a responsible person serving as President of the United States. Makes me proud to be an American, for a change. -Joe- |
