I think anybody should be able to view the photos if they're public. I'm not logged in and it's letting me look.

I swear I was awake for the whole concert!

Sorry about the silliness. John's visit was an excuse for music music and more music. Jed's house concert coincided and I don't ever remember a night with more musicians playing more instruments and passing them around slightly reluctantly like a mother with a newborn baby.Jed was brilliant. His friends showed up with banjos and guitars. John and Kendall joined in along with Jeri. There was some singing but mostly instruments. Blue Grass, Traditional Folk, Singer Song Write Folk, C&W, Blues... And the night definitly belongs above the line.

"My original post still holds good, this thread should be in the BS section."

Date: 11 Aug 09 - 11:15 AM
Yes, we read and deleted several requests and nonetheless decided to keep the thread in the music section. Despite the chit-chat, the thread has to do with music gatherings. The world will not come to an end if this thread stays where the originator put it.

Nobody, not even Alice, peed on anything that I know of.

I think Mary had fleas (in her house) before the arrival of the guests.

You know, they say she's not half bad.

I think (and we're talking about the cat that pees on things) it's more like 1/4 of her that's not bad. She slept on me though, and I lived to tell about it. Little darling...

OK, Mary. I take it back. There were still two musicians there when I left. It could have been either of them or the tea could have been left over from breakfast.

Or Alice did it.

The Canadian Post Office.

Fact: I sent a time-sensitive letter-sized envelope (5" x 7") and paid $10 to ensure it arrived within a few days. Sent three from when I live in Alberta to Edmonton which is also in Alberta. It was there within six days. Sent one to Edmonton from Montreal. It took two days. Had some CDs I sent to people arrive in anywhere from three to twelve days. Sent airmail cds to various places in Australia. One took two months, one three weeks and another FIVE days. Folks, the post office don't make sense no more.

Maybe they meant 8 days to arrive in the US?
The Post Office has lost packages on me in the past two months. The first losses ever - then two in a row.
This is beginning to look like the Where's Micca? thread. I wonder how long we can keep this going.

As Gary said, I was worried. Thank goodness they have arrived though. That means they took exactly 14 days, when the Canadian post office lady said 8 maximum!

Chatted with his nibs a short while ago. 32 hours from Mary's... he showered and decided it was time to sack out. Even his typing sounded tired... but, a good kinda tired.

He had nothing but praise and accolades for his hosts.

I got something on me from that futon. Luckily, Alice decided she wanted to stay on the futon and get off me. Lovely cat.

The flea thing was not funny. Seamus visited, came in the house from my yard and the little bastards were walking all over him. So I checked the cats and they too were infested.
Planned to buy Frontline on my way home from work - fine.
When I arrived at work I put my purse down and a flea jumped off me and onto the desk. GROSS! So I had to have Frontline too.

I went to the ladies room and combed all my hairy parts dreading what I might find - fortunately, nothing.

Had a nice breakfast out with da boyz. Remembered Linn's CD and our beautiful plants. There may be a Martin guitar for sale, but there's definitely going to be a Guild D-4 for sale. Thanks to John for not buying the smaller Nick guitar so I could. Unfortunately, he needed it for a gig, so I didn't bring it home. Got to play his fiddle last night too.

Jed was going to give John a ride to Logan. Great to see you guys again. Mary, did John take his sheep home? His fleas?

Will do so when I get home Amos, but it's not an old one, it's about 10 years old maybe. Played in nice, comes with an air freight standard Calton case.
But I'm sure you could get one just as good cheaper in the US, have you seen the price of them in the UK? UK price , and that's cheap, they go for five hundred more then that in some places.

I've been feeling pretty low these past few days due to the death of my dear friend, Sandy Paton. I just wanted to hide and grieve, but I fought that urge and went to a dinner party at Deb and Toms house. Tom cooks Lobsters as good as I do! sniff. I'm glad I went; good food and company, and today I went sailing with Gordon and Carol.
Gordon told me that Nick Apollonio is back to making instruments again after a long layoff.
He is as fine a luthier as I've ever met, and his prices are very low compared to his ability.

We'll see, Morty. He does play the banjo, you know. And the initial shock of Chance's aversion therapy are wearing off.

John was the first one off the bus last night. the pouring rain stopped just long enough to get him packed into my car. Freddie is happy - someone to let him in and out today. He was treated to the fog horn from Portland Head Light last night - kind of a neat way to fall asleep.

i am at work. He is in Tami's hands this AM and on his way to Maeve once he has settled a rental car.

look for updates from up north (or is it Downeast? I am still from away).

I am here safe and sound, thanks for the kind words folks.
Hugs received and returned likewise.
Unfortunately I didn't sell out of CD's at Apple Hollow, so I have some with me. I only brought a few with me in person from Canada, and I mailed the rest to Mary's, I had visions on some officious border guard accusing me of coming to work illegally in the US if he found a load of CD's in my baggage.
I shall post more anon, see you on Friday Tom.

Maeve,
I have no idea what John's schedule is. If we can put together an impromptu song circle for Saturday or Sunday, who is in? It will have to be simple - Wine and beer left from last weekend and maybe order pizza or Chinese food.
This all depends on his schadule, though.

"John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!!"

God Bless America!

Say hello to him from me. He was great at the festival, and although I didn't understand a sinle word he said except 'beer', he was also a wonderful guy. Through a translator he mentioned that I seemed to have the same difficulty as did he. When I asked what that might be, he said, "Getting better lookin' all the time and not able to do anything to stop it." So, not only a wonderful man and performer, but also wise. (Any guide dogs there?)
