For those in the San Francisco Bay Area next week:
Berkeley Old Time Music Convention
Wed. Sept. 9 through Sun. Sept. 13
Concerts, square dances, string band contest, film showing, workshops, activities for kids, jamming, etc. etc.
Locations all over Berkeley including Freight & Salvage, Ashkenaz, Civic Center Park/Farmers Market, Pacific Film Archive, Jazzschool, Jupiter, Main Branch Library,etc.
With: Alice Gerrard, Benton Flippen, Paul Brown, Mostly Mountain Boys, Elizabeth & Sandy LaPrelle, Rodney & Clay Sutton, Eric & Suzy Thompson, Black Crown String Band, Knuckle Knockers, Mt. Diablo String Band, and more!

Instructional workshops (aka master classes) in fiddle, banjo, guitar, vocals, clogging, square dance calling -- advance registration is advised for these!

We've just added an auxiliary event -- after the showing of "Always Been A Rambler" on Weds. night, everyone is invited to a party at Henry's, the restaurant/bar in the Durant Hotel, on the corner of Bowditch & Durant. We'll play tunes, eat, drink, socialize, etc. No host bar. All ages are welcome. Action will get going at about 8:30 or 9, come join the fun!
