Subject: Review: Book of Oktoberfest Songs and Lore.New!
From: *#1 PEASANT*

So....there I was in Houston, Texas at a Saengerbund Meeting social. We were singing traditional oktoberefest songs and drinking the appropriate beers.....I noticed a few younger folk spectators not singers.....They needed help.....We are after all a hymnal society. In order to learn by singing along training would take forever but with a book in their hands they could begin that moment. I combined that knowledge with the knowledge that the polish had won the war at least in our area. One can get good polish music but the German has suffered. Even at our large local German bier hall. So....I concluded we needed a hymnal of traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest songs. I searched high and low and even in the Library of congress. I did not want wein songs, rein songs or hafen songs. Just Bavarian Munich Oktoberfest songs. I finally got them together and many of the tunes as well and there you have it! An Oktoberfest hymnal! Another problem with Oktoberfests in the USA is that the food is often not right at all. So....I included recipes and some history of the Munich Oktoberfest with some illustrations....
It is now ready! Comes in a sturdy comb bound form with heavy covers.
Almost guaranteed to soak up a liter of bier.

Those new to the culture and language need a guide to get them started. With this songbook newcomers can join in. Singers can learn the songs or polish them for better performances. The Star Spangled Banner (in German!) Auf Und Nieder, Botropper Bier Schützenliesel. Anneliese, Auf Wiederseh'n. SCHNAPS DAS WAR SEIN LETZTES WORT,Frau Meyer hat gelbe Unterhosen an. There are instructions for the Chicken Dance as well as notation. .

We have also provided essential recipes and instructions for celebrating Oktoberfest. Learn how to make proper Bratwurst, Potato Salad, and Gebrante Mandeln among other delicacies. Discover the origins of the Oktoberfest and learn how to drink bier and schnapps properly. Above all learn how you can take part in the tradition and save these important songs and customs for future generations. The booklet is a great gift for that "German" band that has forgotten the proper lyrics or for children and grand children who will feel much more comfortable at German events with the proper words for singing along. Hutman Productions is dedicated to the re-birth of folk customs.

Prosit!

Conrad

Yes officially wierd.....great book.
These days I am trying to avoid work or working on the giant sourcebook for Wassail customs which keeps sending me out to do art. Actually the weather is too good not to glue and paint.
Check out the blogs.

Just finished the art bycycle in time for the Washington DC H. ST. NE festival saturday.....photos on the blog under magnet truck soonly.

The songbook has been very successful transforms a crowd of spectators into a crowd of participants. Lots of great feedback- most complete collection available anywhere.

Thanks Joe! It will go out tues. due to the holiday.

Next project now on its way is to put together a set of songs which would have been sung in 1810- Year of the first Oktoberfest.

The books work quite well to help folks fully enjoy the experience of the Oktoberfest. So many wish they knew the words.

By the way this is published non profit to help the tradition.
