Little candlelit shrines in the street and quiet private parties. I can't see turning it into showbiz as a step forward. |

This year in San Diego it began with a long parade with representative groups from various states in India, each with their own particular festival garb and costumes and dances. A movie made from photos is available this site if you want to get a sense of the amazing spirit and color of the proceeding. The sound track is not of the event. May take some time to load. A |
